Thiess secures two-year mining services contract extension at Okvau Gold Project, Cambodia
Mining services contractor Thiess, a CIMIC Group company, has secured a two-year A$170 million contract extension at Emerald Resources NL's Okvau Gold Mine in Cambodia.
The extension takes the contract through to 2030 and covers the mining operations at Okvau, including mine development, drill and blast services, mining overburden and ore, and all associated mining support services across the project.
Thiess, through subsidiary MACA, secured the original contract in 2020 and has developed a strong relationship with Emerald through a shared commitment to safety, operational excellence, capability and community development, and sustainable value creation.
Since production began, the operation has produced more than 500,000 ounces of gold, reflecting the mine’s strong focus on safe production and workforce capability.
