Dec 10, 2024·1 min read

ACS INFRA / IRIDIUM through Skyports has been awarded today the contract to operate the Manhattan Downtown Heliport by the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). This project marks an important milestone in the transformation of the heliport into a sustainable, multi-modal transportation and logistics hub. Dowtown Skyport, a joint venture of Skyports Infrastructure and Groupe ADP, will lead the management and improvement of the heliport, enabling New York to become the first city in the world to adapt its heliport infrastructure to integrate advanced technologies such as electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and facilitating last-mile maritime cargo delivery. This initiative will not only reduce truck traffic in the city, but also significantly improve the quality of life for New Yorkers by providing quieter and greener transportation alternatives. Skyports will be a key player in this innovative project that positions New York as a world leader in sustainable air mobility solutions. ACS Group has a firm commitment to the creation of infrastructures that promote a greener and more efficient future, and this award is a crucial step in that direction.
