HOCHTIEF has been awarded a contract as part of National Grid's North West London Upgrade program to help modernize and expand the electricity transmission network across Greater London. The project will be delivered by the Hochtief-Murphy Joint Venture (HMJV) in collaboration with project partners.
"This project will help create the electricity capacity needed to support economic growth across northwest London. By expanding and modernising the network, we are enabling the connection of new data centres while ensuring reliable power for households, businesses and the digital economy," said HOCHTIEF Infrastructure CEO Peter Hingott.
The project includes the installation of 60 kilometres of new cable infrastructure, upgrades and expansions to substations, replacement of overhead lines, and extensive works on one of the UK's longest high-voltage cable tunnels.
The project builds on HOCHTIEF's involvement in National Grid's London Power Tunnels 2 programme and further strengthens the Group's position in the growing energy transmission and sustainable infrastructure sectors.
