CIMIC’s CPB Contractors awarded Townsville Correction Centre Capacity Uplift Project
The Queensland Government has appointed CIMIC Group company CPB Contractors to deliver the Townsville Correction Centre Capacity Uplift Project as Managing Contractor.
Delivered in partnership with Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) and the Department of Housing and Public Works (DHPW), the project will provide 400 new beds in 200 additional cells, boosting prison capacity and helping to restore safety in Queensland.
The Australian Digital Infrastructure Platform is Vocus’ long-term initiative to develop new high-capacity fibre subsea, intercapital and metro fibre infrastructure across Australia and the APAC region, supporting growing demand from AI infrastructure, hyperscale and data centres, cloud platforms and digital services.
The Townsville Correction Centre Capacity Uplift Project will deliver an approximately $730 million revenue to CPB Contractors.

The Townsville Correction Centre Capacity Uplift Project involves significant security enhancements and construction of 200 additional cells to accommodate 400 new beds.
