CIMIC, through UGL, has been awarded further work with Western Power – the State Government-owned corporation responsible for Western Australia’s main electricity network – as it readies for large-scale renewable energy generation as part of the WA Government funded Clean Energy Link- North project. At the Three Springs Terminal, 300km from Perth, UGL will provide engineering, procurement and construction services including preparing the terminal to receive renewable energy connections and designing and installing transmission and electrical substation equipment. At Neerabup Terminal, 35km from Perth, UGL will undertake transmission line modification works and facilitate connection to the Neerabup Substation, where UGL is already delivering substation extensions. ACS Group CEO and CIMIC Executive Chairman Juan Santamaría said: “Our work with Western Power is contributing to the transformation of the electricity network to support large-scale renewable energy and enable a secure, clean energy future for Western Australia.” Work will commence this year and be completed in 2027.
